My second book, The Devil May Care, just won the 2012 Golden Heart for Historical Romance!

During my "year of entering contests" (besides the GH), it won the 2010 Beau Monde Royal Ascot in the Hot Regency category as well as the Historical category of the 2009 Golden Pen.

In 2010, it was also a finalist in:
The Emily
Great Expectations
Fab Five
Reveal Your Inner Vixen (came in second place behind A Most Improper Gentleman!).

My first book, A MOST IMPROPER GENTLEMAN won the 2010 Golden Heart for Regency Historical.

In 2010, it also won:
The Beau Monde Royal Ascot for Regency Historical
The Molly (Historical)
Heart of the Rockies (Historical)
Reveal Your Inner Vixen
It was a finalist in every contest I entered it in, including The Golden Palm, and it was also nominated in the Molly's Unsinkable Heroine Category.

Since I was a Golden Heart finalist for A Most Improper Gentleman (then called Shameless) in 2009 as well, I'm lucky enough to count myself a member of three uber-talented Golden Heart classes: the Firebirds, the Unsinkables and the extraordinary Ruby Slippered Sisters.

I'll blog here when I can, but you'll hear much more from me at the 2009 finalists' website, rubyslipperedsisterhood.com

Hey!! I'm on the Internet!!

webassets/medievalfangirl.jpgI usually keep my "real" life and my writing life separate online, but I can't resist sharing this:

A couple weeks ago in my AP English class, I made a comment about how the oxymoronic emotions of Petrarchan sonnets bear a striking resemblance to Tumblr fangirling. After my students got over the shock of learning that an adult even knows about Tumblr, one of them put a post up about our class discussion on her Tumblr blog--and it went semi-viral.

Then a reporter from the internet "newspaper" The Daily Dot contacted me for an interview, and the resulting article went live today. Check it out at http://www.dailydot.com/culture/tumblr-fandom-is-modern-day-sonnet-really/

Okay, I said I would and I did!!

I promised I'd post my mid-way NaNoWriMo progress chart on the Ruby blog today, and it's up there for all the world to see.

Also, I'm giving some clarification about the new Golden Heart rules (with some help from RWA's Carol Ritter) since GOLDEN HEART 2013 OPENS FOR ENTRIES TODAY!!!
